What makes a good fossil game for me?
Good digging/discovering mechanics.
Variety in collectibles.
Ability to display my collection.
Masterpiece
My favourite games in the genre, the top of the crop. As perfect as they can get, a true master class. The games I keep returning to.
Super addictive puzzle and collectible game!
Sort boxes of fossils to complete family trees, keep one fossil, crossbreed them to make your ideal fossil and collect them all!Technically not a fossil game but close enough!
Pick up shells, learn cool marine facts, and fill your gorgeous journal, all while listening to the soothing waves. Finally, hoarding things is educational!The best museum game out there!
It’s not just fossils but it starts out that way: send your paleontologists on expeditions to retrieve fossils and display them in your museum.
Quite good
Games that are great, with a lot of the things I love, that I got hooked on for a good while before putting them down.
Mixed bag
These are the “needs some more time in the oven” games. They have good elements that make me not dismiss them entirely, but they also lack in too many areas to really hook me.
Dig, dust, and assemble fossils into skeletons whichever way you like.
No enemies, no timers, just cosy exploration and honestly, quite fun - but without a controller, the controls are a mess.
Really bad
I just really did not enjoy these games. They were either frustrating, unpolished, un-userfriendly, or just plain boring.
Arcade game with RPG elements, but falls flat.
So much potential that they just never took anywhere. Super disappointing as I would have adored this game had they actually made it.
