Games where you grow and/or take care of plants, whether to collect or sell them.
What makes a good plant game for me?
Lots of variation in plants, whether they are realistic or fictional species.
Customisation and decoration, e.g. different pot types, choice where to place them, etc.
Masterpiece
My favourite games in the genre, the top of the crop. As perfect as they can get, a true master class. The games I keep returning to.
Plant Therapy
Cosy and addictive game that is as therapeutic as the name implies.
You get an apartment and a plant that drops coins when you take good care of it. Water it, fertilise it, collect the coins, buy more plants, rinse, repeat. Fill the apartments with tons of gorgeous decorations and just chill with your plants.
Quite good
Games that are great, with a lot of the things I love, that I got hooked on for a good while before putting them down.
Botany Manor
Interesting combination of puzzle and plant care in a gorgeous manor.
Step into the role of a botanist putting together a herbarium of forgotten flora found around the world.Leafy Corner
Super cosy combination of ‘take care of plants’ with ‘run a shop’.
The premise is simple: buy a pot, put it on a shelf, put a plant in it, water the plant, sell the plant, buy more plants, rinse and repeat.
Limited demo with tons of potential.Strange Horticulture
Completionism and mystery solving through botanical care.
Gorgeous plants, mysterious storyline, occult atmosphere, iconic art style, adorable familiar and you get to write your own labels?!Urban Jungle
A puzzle game disguised as a cosy plant game.
Telling a story through moving from house to house and unpacking, while placing plants in thriving conditions.
Mixed bag
These are the “needs some more time in the oven” games. They have good elements that make me not dismiss them entirely, but they also lack in too many areas to really hook me.
Really bad
I just really did not enjoy these games. They were either frustrating, unpolished, un-userfriendly, or just plain boring.
