Potion games tier list.
Games that have one main focus: brewing potions.
What makes a good potion game for me?
Lots of variety in terms of ingredients and effects.
A good follow-up mechanic, which is usually selling those potions.
Customisation, naming potions, decorating bottles, etc.
Masterpiece
My favourite games in the genre, the top of the crop. As perfect as they can get, a true master class. The games I keep returning to.
The potion game that sets the bar at its highest!
Gorgeous graphics, innovative gameplay and good storylines.
[» review]The most satisfying *cling* sounds in the world!
Cute graphics, adorable bottles floating around, with exploration and collecting.

Quite good
Games that are great, with a lot of the things I love, that I got hooked on for a good while before putting them down.
Good game to introduce you to the deckbuilding genre!
Well-paced and rewarding semi-deckbuilder / time management hybrid.

Mixed bag
These are the “needs some more time in the oven” games. They have good elements that make me not dismiss them entirely, but they also lack in too many areas to really hook me.
Adorable JRPG with refreshing interactions, that turned into a DLC mill.
Enjoyed the time I spent playing it, but can’t endorse it on account of it having become a DLC mill money grab.

Really bad
I just really did not enjoy these games. They were either frustrating, unpolished, un-userfriendly, or just plain boring.
Repetitive and stressful mess that shouldn’t be a full release.
Interesting look-and-feel, but disappointing and stressful gameplay.
